Welcome to Collage House, the environmentally friendly home
There are many ways to help the environment: living energy-saving, travelling on an electric scooter and reducing waste as much as possible. The noble art of recycling is becoming less and less a good but dull habit and more a practice that enhances many's creativity — fun and valuable at the same time.

But how far can the noble art of recycling go? Just think about this: someone has even built a house based on the reuse of waste material. Today we want to talk to you about Collage House (a name, a program, right?). Built in Mumbai by S + PS Architects, it is a super green and super cool dwelling that expresses its personality at first glance: the facade is literally a collage of ancient doors and windows salvaged from an anonymous end. Just look at it, and you are projected into the oldest and most historically rich streets of the Indian city.
Once you pass through the gigantic gate, you enter what could easily be the ideal playground for an ecological treasure hunt. One step into the garden and what looks like a bamboo grove are extremely high steel pipes recovered from previous buildings that now collect rainwater, nourishment for bougainvillaea, plumeria and gardenias. Climb up to the first floor and what looks like an established artist's painting is a collage (yes, again) of tablets that tailors and craftsmen once used to print the fabrics of saris and dresses. As soon as you enter the bedroom, you’ll be enchanted by the very detailed headboard of the bed… which, in reality, is another collage, this time of old frames. And then, the bathroom entirely covered with old mirrors, the patio supported by centuries-old columns: everything inside Collage House is the apotheosis of reclamation.

The amount of waste that we, as a society, are producing is crazy,” said Pinkish Shah, one of the architects behind this genius project. “Maybe Collage House is a wake-up call for all of us to just remind ourselves of where we can really resource more carefully so that we don’t produce as much waste”.

And you, what would you reuse in your ideal Collage House?
