Stops not to be missed
Verona
Castelvecchio and the Scaligero Bridge.
A real castle in the town. With the Scaligero Bridge it was used as an escape route by the Della Scala family, the Lords of Verona.
Bussolengo.
We pedal along to the rhythm of the flowing river Adige and the gentle hills that we can see in the distance, enhanced by the famous vineyards that stretch right to the heart of Valpolicella.
Peschiera.
The striking panorama of Lake Garda lies before us. Following the road that skirts the lake we arrive at Peschiera: how about a coffee amidst the colourful houses of the port?
Parco del Mincio
The Mincio Park is a protected area. A place with a charm of its own, thanks to the morphology, landscape and the plant and animal species to be found there. It winds along the whole 73 km of the river, from the lower Garda to the Po Delta.
Borghetto
This tiny town is an essential stop on our tour: an ancient village of mills that seems to be born from the water, a handful of houses in complete symbiosis with the river. The landscape – motionless, eternal, enchanted– makes us feel we are in a magic place where time has stood still.
Valeggio
Crossing the majestic Visconteo Bridge we arrive at Valeggio sul Mincio, famous not only for its fortified old town centre, but also for the specialities of its cuisine: the famous Valeggio tortellini, rose cake and chocolate tortellini.
Valeggio sul Mincio
Parco Sigurtà
A perfect blend of a historic park and a modern garden, always meticulously tended by the Sigurtà family. Forget your itinerary for a couple of hours: let yourselves be enchanted by the geometrical flower beds, wander among hundreds of species of trees and plants, be tempted to follow its waterways. In 2013 it was awarded the prize as the Best Park in Italy, in 2015 it became the Second Most Beautiful Park in Europe, and in 2016 it took the prize for the Best Blooms in Italy.
